Welcome to City 514, the middle and high school youth ministry of Bow Down Church. We are excited to have you visit our youth group and hope you will want to join our Christ-centered community. While we know that our youth group will not be for everyone, we believe you will want to join in with others who follow Jesus intently, pray steadfastly, work diligently to study God’s word, and worship in truth and sincerity. Together, we will learn to take responsibility for mental, physical, and spiritual growth as we partner with what the Creator is doing in our community, both corporately and individually.

Thank you for choosing Bow Down’s Youth Group. Your trust in us to aid your child’s spiritual development is a great honor. We commit to serving you by coming alongside what you are already doing/teaching your child. We are building disciples who understand their identity and purpose and are ready to live out their identity and purpose in a like-minded community. We believe the most significant things this youth group can accomplish are teaching Lordship salvation, biblical discipleship, reliable mentorship, and what Kingdom community looks like.

It is with the utmost gratitude we express our thankfulness for your willingness to serve on the Thursday night youth group meeting. We truly are grateful for your heart to serve our youth. We hope you will understand our heart as you read through the list of responsibilities and expectations below. We take the role seriously as shepherds of our youth. We commit to leading them wisely, courageously, and with great care as spiritual shepherds. We work toward building a holy culture and a vibrant community, centering itself around our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With this in mind, we ask all volunteers and those interested in volunteering to actively live their faith in a Christ-centered community. Our culture will thrive with like-minded servants dedicated to the faith's core tenets. We are specifically praying for leaders who peacefully walk in unity with those around them in their many different social environments. These characteristics will greatly bless our youth. If you wish to serve in the youth group, you must complete a background check and be cleared by our volunteer coordinator. You will also be expected to support the leaders and teachings of Bow Down Church. You will also be expected to support the youth group Pastor and his teachings. All other expectations that you will also be held accountable for are:

Engage the youth from the start to the finish of the youth night
Serve in humility
Be a teacher with your words and actions (Always speak positively in front of youth, and constantly utilize scripture in answering their questions, and while leading)

Do not engage with kids on any online medium or phone privately unless granted permission to do so
Communicate with parents as much as you do their kids, and always keep parents informed of all your plans
Communicate well [efficiently & consistently] with other volunteer leaders and the directors. We want to make sure leaders are staying unified and of one mind. We believe that good communication is the key means of doing such
Teach with passion and wisdom
Attend volunteer leader meetings
Attend and complete all youth leader training
Never bring up a student's misbehaviors to other parents, or anyone for that matter, except the parent or our youth leaders
Thank you for your willingness to be a holy example to our flock. If, at any time, you violate the responsibilities or expectations listed above, the youth pastor reserves the right to terminate your service commitment from Thursday night youth group, and you will not be allowed at the onsite facilities. If, at any time, you need to voice concerns with a leader (or about a leader) please feel free to contact the Directors (Stephen Hamilton or Carly Kidd), or any of the Church Elders directly. We will work to protect you and our kids so that the Mission and Vision are accomplished successfully.
